What is this course about?

Do you want to run a small business in Beauty Therapy Massage? Develop or add a new career in the growing Health and Beauty industry? Are you patient, open, and have a great eye for detail?

This qualification is aimed at learners who are interested in Beauty Therapy or who are already working in the industry. If you are looking to embark on a career as a therapist specialising in facial skincare treatments, our Level 2 Award in Facial Massage & Skincare (VTCT) is designed to equip you with the knowledge, practical skills and industry-required qualification to be able do this with confidence. 

What will we cover?

Learners will complete 3 Mandatory units:

• UV20398 Provide facial skin care
• UV20453 Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
• UV20483 Follow health and safety practice in the salon

Practical Training covers; Health, safety & hygiene, Consultation techniques, Contraindications, Facial skincare treatment routine, Cleansing, toning & Exfoliation, Skin analysis, Facial massage and Aftercare advice

Where possible we will work with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. This could include:

• structured work-experience or work-placements within their business 
• your attendance at classes or lectures given by industry experts

What level is this course & what skills do I need?

This course is a Level 2.

You will need to have appropriate levels of English skills in order to produce assignments necessary for this course. 

You must have achieved an English Language Level 2 qualification or above. You will be asked to provide your certificate during the Course Approval Assessment.

A passion for the beauty and or complementary industry and a willingness to learn.

Competent IT skills

Well organised and ability to work to deadlines. This course requires home study and research skills. You must have sufficient time at home that you can set aside to do homework, revision and practice.

You will be expected to work on your classmates to practice and perform your practical treatments. This course is open to males and females.

To be considered for a place on this course, you are required to complete an online course assessment to ensure this course is suitable for you.

Courses at Level 2 or below may be free if you are in work, live in a London Borough and earn under £25,642.50 or are in receipt of a means tested benefit and looking for work.
