PLEASE NOTE: Concessions rates may be available to those aged 19+ who do not already hold a full Level 3 qualification or have a full Level 3 qualification but are unemployed or are employed but earn below the national living wage.

If you fall outside these criteria, you can either pay the full fee or apply for an advanced learner loan. A 10% discount will be applied to the Standard fee for those students who take out an Advanced Learner Loan.

What is this course about?

This Level 3 Beauty Therapy Massage course can help you develop a career in the growing Health and Beauty industry. If you are patient, open, have a great eye for detail and a willingness to learn you will succeed in this area.

This qualification is aimed at learners who are interested in Beauty Therapy or who are already working in the industry. Through this qualification the learner will demonstrate skills on paying clients gaining the skills and knowledge to work in a salon and/or help you to progress to become a senior member of staff. Following successful completion of this qualification you will be qualified to work in a number of employment destinations such as: hairdressing salons, hotels or cruise ships, as well as possibly starting your own micro business. 

What will we cover?

Learners will complete 52 credits and gain competence by undertaking the following mandatory units:

UV30491 Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon

UV30468 Client care and communication in beauty-related industries 

UV30493 Maintaining personal health and wellbeing 

UV30424 Provide body massage

UV30574 Provide Indian head massage

UV30425 Provide massage using pre-blended aromatherapy oils

UV30475 Apply stone therapy massage

UV30410 Explore the origins of massage and principles of complementary and alternative medicine

Where possible we will work with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. This could include:

  • structured work-experience or work-placements within their business 
  • your attendance at classes or lectures given by industry experts

What level is this course & what skills do I need?

This is a Level 3 course and therefore is equivalent to studying an ‘A’ Level. Please note that there will be written tasks such as essays and presentations that will require good use of English language skills. 

You will need to possess the following

You will need to have appropriate levels of English skills in order to produce assignments necessary for this course. You must have achieved an English Language GCSE at Grade 4 - 9 / C - A* or you must have achieved a Functional Skills Level 2 qualification
